Why book a Sports and Remedial Massage?
Sports and remedial massage can not only be beneficial to a competitive sports person, but also for anyone who suffers from muscular aches and pains or stress.
For athletes, recovery is an important part of a fitness regime due to the fact that beneficial adaptations take place during this period ensuring progression. This is the reason that a Sports Massage Therapist is an integral part of most professional sports teams.

When should you have a Sports Massage?
- Regular Sports Massage is beneficial at regular intervals as a maintenance programme.
- As part of injury treatment and/or to address muscular imbalance
- Pre-event massage is performed usually 2 days before the event or on the day to invigorate the athlete as part of a warm up
- Post-event massage can take place immediately after or the in the days following the event
What to expect?
The first appointment will start with a full consultation and postural assessment to allow the therapist to tailor subsequent treatments to the individuals needs. For this reason it is necessary for the first appointment to be at least an hour long (sometimes 1hr-15mins), and then further treatments can be booked for either 1 hour or 30 minutes.
Mobile appointments are available within a 5 mile radius of Shrewsbury town centre on Mondays (or some evenings upon request).
Appointments within the Ludlow Clinic are currently only available on Thursdays.
What to bring?
A pair of shorts should be brought along with appropriate underwear to allow the client to feel more comfortable during the initial assessment.
Towels are provided and only areas being treated will be uncovered during massage treatments. You’re more than welcome to bring a friend along with you if it makes you feel more comfortable.
